In a successful collaboration of Rainmaker’s marketing know-how and CCA’s talented staff, we recently assisted Christian Community Action with their annual “Swing & Serve” golf and tennis tournament fundraiser by providing memorable branding, consistent marketing and cohesive event coordination via a monthly retainer. The same steps that made this year’s CCA event bigger and better than ever can also be applied to your next project:

1. Brand the event

Brand the event with an eye-catching and memorable logo. Rainmaker partnered with CCA’s marketing team to conceptualize a bold logo to emphasize the name of their fundraiser. The brightly-colored green and burgundy logo was highly visible on all of the campaign’s promotional materials and created a sense of cohesiveness.

2. Use multiple media channels

Use multiple media channels to publicize the event including website banners, flyers and “save the date” direct mail postcards. Approaching your key audience through multi-channels ensures that the message will be received successfully.

3. Arm your staff

Arm your staff, board and key decision-makers with mini “save the date” business cards that can be handed out conveniently during meetings, business luncheons and networking events. Rainmaker got this clever idea from the CCA staff and we like it!

4. Provide online registration

Provide online registration to make signing up as easy and convenient as possible. Rainmaker developed an easy-to-use online form that captures each registrant’s data well before the event.

5. Maintain a consistent brand identity

Maintain a consistent brand identitywith a welcoming banner, abundant use of event signage, and visually appealing tabletop cards. A good brand leads people to the event, through the event and out-the-door with a consistent message.

6. Assemble a strong on-site program

Assemble a strong on-site program that presents your fundraiser goals with exciting, informative copy. Rainmaker developed appealing copy geared to pre-sell and build interest in the auction items.

7. Plan well.

Rainmaker’s Lisa Bare served as event coordinator up to and during the event by assisting with event management, planning and registration, acquisition of auction items and coordination of volunteer efforts.

8. Show thanks!

Send your participants home with additional marketing messages and special momentos in a colorful goodie bag. CCA’s goodie bag included a water bottle, golf shirt with logo, a golf towel, coupons and much more.

We really enjoyed working with the CCA team and are excited to be again working with them on their next initiative. You can find out more about the comprehensive services provided by this vital organization on their website.
