We're looking forward to the 2012 Spotlight Gala at WaterTower Theatre tomorrow night, and one of the things we always enjoy is their silent auction which has hundreds of items.  There's something for everyone at every price point.

It’s always a pleasure to work with Christian Community Action, but it was an even greater pleasure to work on their current - and truly inspiring - campaign. 

On March first, CCA will host Pastor Todd Burpo, author of “Heaven is for Real”, as he speaks about his son Colton’s amazing experience – his trip to heaven and back - during an emergency appendectomy when he was just four years old.

For more than 35 years, Christian Community Action has been feeding, sheltering, educating and training families in need within 42 communities throughout Collin, Dallas, Denton, Tarrant and Wise counties.

In one year, CCA assists more than 12,000 individuals. They distribute more than $1.4 million of food and see more than 4,000 low-income patients in their health center each year.  They have more than 1,660 people taking educational and vocational training programs at their facility, and provide more than 57,000 lunches to kids during the summer.  If you'd like to join the ranks of the more than 2,500 volunteers who are making a difference in our community, check out their website.
