Resident Bean Counter, Lauren Paslay, has introduced a great new book to our staff and it's making the rounds on all our nightstands.  "Content Rules" by Handley and Chapman gives good insight on how to create killer blogs, podcasts, videos, ebooks and Webinars. 

I'm currently in the middle of the  "A Blog as a Hub of Your Online Content" chapter and discovered these great tips on defining your blog purpose before writing:

• Who is your audience?
• Who is your competition for your audience's attention?
• What is the focus of your blog? What is it about?
• What goals are you trying to achieve?
• Have you set metrics for measuring those goals?
